I am fortunate enough to have my dream job of staying at home with my two beautiful daughters. I've been happily married for 6 years and counting! I am a lover of all things french, all things pink, and anything that sparkles. Serioulsy, my husband calls me a crow. I love baking, crafting and throwing big parties, especially if they have a theme. Right now, I'm in love Pinterest. My Hero is Heather from Sprinkle Bakes and my mom.

Second Annual Birthday Theme Contest

Hi all!

It's that time of year again!!

I'm already making plans for my birthday.

Yes, it is still 3 months away.

Yes, I plan my own birthday party.

And yes, the winner will receive a prize.

This years party is on a Saturday night! Yay! Much better than a Tuesday, right?!

I've been searching and searching for themes and ideas for this years shindig and having no luck!

The problem is I want to have a co-ed party, but I'm always thinking that the men hate dressing up or doing costumes etc etc.

Sucks to be them ;)

I'm also looking into Derby themes but not a whole lot is coming up other than the Kentucky Derby. We have track about 20 min away, which is doable...Limo ride..??

What do you guys think??

As far as prizes go...Lets see...

For the person whose idea/theme I pick will receive a $10.00 Shutterfly gift card.

Try to include as much detail as possible to your suggestions:)

It will be hard to top it!

But this is my 8 year anniversary of my 21st birthday after all.

Happy Giveaway Shutterfly Day! It's a real holiday....

I'm in need people.
In need of a theme.
I'm not usually one that is at a loss for themes, but I feel that my creative juices are running dry.

So to inspire you to inspire me, I've got a
  $20.00 gift card for Shutterfly!

The person who has THE best and most creative theme for my birthday party will be mailed out the prize.

And I'm talking good ideas folks .
Not just  'pink and sparkles'.
I will incorporate those things in no matter what kind of theme it is.

I'll give you some ideas that I've already done:

Alice in Wonderland/Mad Hatter's Tea Party
Sex and the City
Around the World
Vegas Baby!

Party themes that I would love to have but I'm too embarrassed to invite people to would include:

Twilight
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
True Blood
You're getting the picture.

So with that, my birthday is at the end of June but I like to start planning ASAP.

Anyone can win as long as you are a follower and you leave your idea in the comment section.

I will pick the winner next Tuesday, the 12th.

Good luck and be creative!!

Yay!! Giveaway Day!!

OK all, my apologies for not doing a fabulous St.Patty's Day post :(
Me being part Irish and all, as well as the fact that I live for themes!!
I just didn't have it in me to make a mess of my kitchen/house (you know how I cook right?) cause we had a realtor open house in the morning.

So, to make up for it......I'm doing a GIVEAWAY!!!!!

Easter themed, of course, seeing as now that St. Patricks Day is pretty much over, I'm ready for the next holiday!

It's a Cupcake Kit.

3 different cupcake liners
1 jar of matte white pearls
1 jar of THE most gorgeous disco dust, Peony.
2 Piping bags (cause y'all know I like to pipe ev.er.y.thing.) with a large star tip, of course!

All in a cute french/spring-y little box!

I realize that this is a pretty feminine gift, as well it may only appeal to bakers.....
But, what a great first day of spring gift! Or mothers day, or just for no reason!
So all you men followers.... you can enter too and look like the best husbands ever!

Here's some pics!

This is what you will receive in the mail....

and when you open it up....GASP!
It's Spring in a Box!

Now if this edible glitter doesn't just get you jazzed....

Bunny not included.

All you need to do, is:

1. Become a follower.

2. Leave a comment about what you think the best thing about spring is.

3. Tell a friend....Well that's not really a requirement, but it's nice to share.

I will do a random draw on Monday, the 21st. I will notify you all of the winner by posting, so check back!!

Half Way There! Sparkly Oreo Suckers

One week today today people!! Can you believe I've actually stuck to something this long? I can't. I'm what I like to call a 'Quitter'. It's amazing that I've kept blogging even. Thanks to everyone who encourages me daily by becoming a follower and leaving me comments. I heart your comments. Seriously, they make my day!

I'm thinking that maybe when I reach 20 followers I might try and do a giveaway of some sorts. Spread the news people, Free swag (that's souvenirs, wearables and gifts, for the lay person). I'll see what I can come up with, and you see who you can rope into following, deal? Deal!

Venice has a small pre-school class of 12. I'm hoping it's 12 or I'm in trouble! It seems like a small enough number to make homemade valentines. I perused a few website to check out some kid crafts and treats and found a few really cute ones, but a lot of them required things I'd have to go out and buy. I like using things I already have. I had made Oreo suckers from How Does She, last Easter for Venice's friends. They were easy and I had sucker sticks left over from last time so Chocolate Dipped Oreo Suckers made the cut!

All the instructions are at the link above, so I'm saving some typing ;)

My little beauties basking in the sun.

My peanut eating the sprinkles I've spilt on the counter (there was quite a few).

Blooming suckers!

I heart sprinkles.  And sparkles.

Getting them all wrapped up and labeled.

7 more days until THE day! What does everyone have planned? We're going out for a 5 course dinner that starts at 8 pm . . . I'm going to need my stretchy pants and a pillow!
